Sometimes, the "I don't wanna cook" feeling spans several days in a row.
Quite the slippery slope if you aren't prepared for it because you end up piddly snacking through the day.
Or eating out - which blows the budget. #AskMeHowIKnow 😫
I used to think that being a good (fill in the blank here) adult/wife/mom/homemaker etc. meant cooking every day. But girl, that mindset broke me off in more pieces than all the crumbs at the bottom of a Cheez-its box.
Then one day I pulled out a jar of frozen leftover sweet potato chili that was *just enough* for the whole fam.
I whipped up some honey cornbread muffins & instead of fumbling with what to eat I got to sit down with the fam & enjoy a really good (although simple) meal without the stress.

That unintended moment — freezing our "just enough" leftovers — gave me more than food.
It was literally my saving grace on a day gone sideways.
Easily the best food-feeling ever when you feel stressed out & uninspired in the kitchen.
That’s when I realized, "heyyy I actually like this feeling!". It was the first time I understood that food isn't really about cooking more.
It’s about creating rhythms (systems) that carry you through those crazy days.
My whole kitchen system was born from little wins like that.
So try a little change so you can get you some too!
Maybe it's doubling your pasta tonight. Or mixing up muffins tomorrow for cool fall mornings.
Whatever you choose, just make a deposit in your food bank so you can comfortably make a withdrawl on your next "I'm not feelin' it today" kinda day.
